World Class Meditation Teacher Training

Meditation can create measurable changes in both the body and mind. Research suggests that regular practice may support areas of the brain involved in attention, focus, and self?regulation, and may encourage creativity and divergent thinking.

You’ll explore a wide spectrum of meditation practices—from focused attention to meditative yoga—and learn to design sessions that nourish body, mind, and spirit. You’ll also discover how mindfulness supports emotional balance, stress reduction, and holistic well?being in everyday life.

What You’ll Learn

  • Mindfulness vs. Meditation — understanding awareness and presence
  • Focus, concentration & awareness — what makes something meditation
  • Benefits of meditation for stress, anxiety, and emotional regulation
  • Brain waves & the relaxation response (Alpha, Theta, Delta)
  • Stress response, fight/flight/freeze, and meditation’s role in regulation
  • Overcoming obstacles: ego, chattering mind, doubt, restlessness, procrastination
  • Classic Buddhist hindrances & how to work with them
  • Beginning a meditation practice: setting, posture, breath awareness
  • Major meditation styles: Zen, Tibetan, Vipassana, Contemplative Prayer, TM, MBCT, etc.
  • Nada meditation & Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses)
  • Mantra, Japa, Mala practice & the sacred number 108
  • Yoga Nidra — origins, purpose, and practice structure

Meet Your Facilitator

Nicole Hayman‑Sherman

Nicole Hayman‑Sherman is a Grand Master of Yoga and ERYT?500 with more than 10,000 hours of teaching experience and over 1,400 hours of advanced training. She has been teaching in Central New York for 13 years and is the Owner and President of Just Breathe Registered Yoga School (JBYS).

As the lead facilitator of JBYS’s Yoga Teacher Training programs, Nicole has mentored yoga instructors across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Her teaching is grounded in nearly five decades of personal practice, beginning at age three with her mother.

Nicole’s yoga background spans Hatha, Iyengar, Power, White Lotus, Bikram, ISHTA, Kripalu, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yin, giving her a uniquely comprehensive and integrative teaching style.

Before dedicating her career to yoga, Nicole spent more than 30 years in marketing, sales, and public relations throughout the Mohawk Valley—experience that now supports her leadership as a studio owner and educator.

Nicole was honored with the 2023 Health 2.0 Conference Outstanding Leadership Award, recognizing her dedication to yoga education, community service, and holistic wellness. She is currently enrolled
