Yoga Nidra-An Introduction to Yogic Sleep

Yoga Nidra is a powerful practice of meditation and guided imagery. It is a practice of Pratyahara, the Sanskrit word for conscious withdrawal of the senses, where consciousness can be separated from external focus/senses and from sleep. It is dynamic sleep with full conscious awareness. It is a practice of relaxation that is so deep, it is said that 1 hour of Yoga Nidra is worth 3-4 hours of deep sleep. Recent research shows Yoga Nidra can help significantly reduce seriously high anxiety levels, on top of the regular benefits of Meditation. Bring your yoga mat, a pillow and blanket, because you are going to lay back and relax, DEEPLY.

Celebrate the changing of the season to Spring
with an Extended Yin & Yoga Nidra practice!
Spring is a wonderful time to cleanse, release, renew and grow. It is a time we celebrate the time of equal day & night! Shaking off Winter and awakening the body to the rejuvenating energy of Spring, which opens up the possibilities of the future
Yin Yoga is a quieter, slower-paced practice that involves passively holding the postures for longer periods of time in order to work our deeper connective tissues, Yin practice is a nice way to balance a more active Hatha yoga practice, and Spring is about balance and new beginnings. Yoga Nidra or Yogic Sleep is like spring cleaning for the heart and mind and the foremost tool for resetting the nervous system, replenishing our stores of vitality, and lightening our mental load. Practice will end with a long, fully supported Yoga Nidra (deep guided relaxation) tailored for the season. Tea and snack to follow.
