Just Breathe Class Descriptions
Beginner Yoga- This Hatha yoga class focuses on basic postures with attention to proper alignment, connecting breath to movement, and general body awareness. The connection of relaxing breath and safe movements will help create a healthy foundation for your future yoga experiences. This class is slower in pace and may be taken by all levels.
Yoga I- Recommendations: Beginner Yoga. Participants will take the foundational Hatha yoga experiences into more challenging poses and continued breath work in a balance of strength and flexibility.
Yoga II- Recommendations: Yoga I. Continue the evolution of basic poses in Hatha style into an intermediate or more advanced level. Slightly faster in pace than Yoga I, more challenging poses and/or flowing sequences may be introduced.
Power Yoga- Pre-requisite: Experience with Yoga I and Yoga II classes. This class is not for beginners. More athletic and vigorous, this Vinyasa style class utilizes sequences of yoga poses that flow from one to the next. Connected to the breath, these flowing sequences invigorate and challenge the body while stretching and strengthening with each repetition.
Pilates- Please bring: Your yoga/ Pilates mat and a stability ball (balance ball). This challenging class brings some basic exercises developed by Joseph Pilates together with some modern Pilates style techniques on the ball to challenge core strength and flexibility. Deep breathing and specific techniques work together to increase physical strength without putting stress on joints and ligaments.
Fusion- Recommended: Yoga I and Pilates. A blend of Yoga I and mat Pilates exercises are performed in interval style segments with compliments from both forms of movement to strengthen, stretch, challenge the core muscles, and relax the body.
Kid’s Yoga- For ages 4-8. Mountain, Tree, Downward Dog, Cobra and other yoga poses come to life in this kid’s only class. This fun class will work posture, balance, and mindfulness in a noncompetitive and lighthearted format. Don’t be surprised to hear a roar during Lion’s Pose or see a Cobra on the move! Group participation is encouraged. A healthy snack is provided toward the end of class.
